Uber · Company course · Unit 4 “Moats and Advantages”, lesson 3 · About 12 minutes · Data as of 2026-09-12 · Paid content; public preview below

This unit asks: Which advantages are hard to copy, and which can be bought?

Uber One integrates two services, while DoorDash and Lyft already cooperate across companies. Assess the eight candidate advantages by separating structural limits, changes over time and undisclosed effects.

DoorDash has DashPass, Lyft has Lyft Pink, Uber has Uber One. All three sell monthly paid memberships.

Pay a monthly fee for free delivery or ride discounts: anyone can build that.

Memberships are not unusual in this industry. The three differ in something else.

Uber One covers both businesses; rivals already link benefits across companies

One Uber One membership offers Delivery and Mobility benefits, such as free delivery on eligible food orders and cash back on rides. Membership fees are allocated to the two segments based on use; discounts reduce revenue.
