Gross Bookings growth comes from more trips at lower price points, and Delivery's share is rising

Uber · Company course · Unit 5 “Growth and Limits”, lesson 2 · About 8 minutes · Data as of 2026-09-12 · Paid content; public preview below

This unit asks: Where can Gross Bookings still grow, and will margin gains slow?

Gross Bookings grew about 19% in 2025, mainly from more users with a slightly lower amount per trip; Delivery contributed over half of the increase in Gross Bookings and about 42% of the increase in segment profit.

Over the past two years, the Uber ride screen has gained a few lower-priced options: Wait & Save, which costs less if you wait a few minutes; Moto, a two-wheeler; and UberX Share, which shares a ride with strangers.

These options lowered the floor on fares and also brought in new users.

Gross Bookings can be split into three numbers multiplied together: users × trips per user × Gross Bookings per trip.
